The history of this famous brand goes back to 1913, when the founders, Mario and his brother Martino, opened their first boutique in Milan. Their store featured leather luggage. Eventually, Mario’s daughter, Luisa, took over the company. Her daughter, Miuccia, then took over after her. Under Miuccia’s direction, the brand evolved and branched out to producing shoes, accessories and then a women’s clothing line and fragrances. Miuccia turned the company into a worldwide sensation and the brand now has 75 perfumes under its fashion umbrella
As long ago as 2003, meanwhile, Prada began offering exclusive (and numbered) ‘artisan fragrances’ through their boutiques, and a handful of department stores, each focusing on a single note: Orange Flower, Tuberose, Opoponax, Violet, etc. And in 2015, they revisited this idea with a complete, breathtaking collection, created by Daniela Andrier and known as Les Infusions de Prada – arrayed left. (The Perfume Society showcased these fragrances in an exclusive Discovery Box which enables you to explore six glorious eaux.
The collection Les Infusions de Prada, symbol of Italian excellence, offers refined fragrances of distinctive character and focuses on the main ingredient of each release. Each of the scents from the collection reveals a different personality and brings a sense of confidence through its subtle intensity. The new edition for 2016 comes out in the spring, dedicated to the sunny and tender mimosa blossom. Infusion de Mimosa consists of essences of anise and mandarin in the top notes, with the floral heart of mimosa and rose absolute resting on a subtle woody base.
